The President
Mr João Pereira was elected president of ESRA by the Board.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of 10 Directors who meet at least once a quarter. Only full ESRA members are represented at the Board. The term of office for Board members is two years, with a President and a Treasurer also elected every two years. The Board has full accountability in terms of management and administration, subject to the powers of the General Assembly.

General Assembly
The General Assembly is composed of all ESRA members (both full and observer) and takes place once a year. The General Assembly has all the powers needed to achieve the association’s objectives and to carry out its activities. The voting rights of each full member are based on the tonnage of cane sugar refined on the territory of the European Union, which is revised every 3 years.

Secretariat
ESRA’s permanent secretariat is based in Brussels and carries out the day-to-day management and activities of the association
Ms Marie van Raemdonck is ESRA’s Executive Director.
